ALERT TO NEW AUTHORS:
Despite still refusing to discuss this matter with me as the responsible person,
ie author, publisher, copyright holder, Amazon have renewed their exhorbitant charges
of £606.96 for return delivery of unsold Nanna Strawberry Stories, at February 2019
with an additional charge of £133.00 for further storage and returns in September 2019.
I had paid just under £100 for DELIVERING a total of 11 boxes of books to Amason's
collection point over 11 months and could not have anticipated the huge charge for
return of unsold books by carrier from all parts of the United Kingdom over several days !
It is beyond my control that they omitted to return the later books amongst February
returns ! Ir is also beyond my control that they refused to communicate with me
as author and publisher, simply on the grounds that I had asked my grand-daughter
to do the IT work involved when resgistering the stories with Amazon. They are
therefore holding her as the financially responsible person. Outrageous ! I am the
responsible person they should have communicated with in the circumstances.
So to new Authors everywhere, I say, be alert and beware of Amazon techniques.
I will consider prompt payment of a more reasonable agreed amount once I, not my
helpful grand-daughter, am recognised as the financially responsible person.

UNEXPECTED TOKEN OF APPRECIATON
Having had a lovely birthday afternoon with great granddaughter Sophie, age 6 two weeks ago,
en route home I was drawn to the Sunday Roast noticeboards outside some inviting roadside
inns. The thought came to me that a savoury roast dinner was just what I needed after an
afternoon indulging in sugary treats. So I duly chose an inn, went inside to find a table for one,
then cash in hand I went to the bar to request a roast beef dinner. "Sorry" said the barman, "roast
dinners are sold out". Overcoming my disappointment I returned to my table to restudy the menu.
A gentleman who had observed the above, came to me and asked in a friendly manner "Do you
know what you are having yet?". "Yes, I have decided on a four ounce steak with chips which will
be just fine for me". So I returned to the bar holding out a ten pound note. The barman declined it.
"That gentleman who was here has just paid for your meal" said the busy barman. I felt very
touched by this kindness, but also rather embarrassed at not even being able to thank the kind
stranger.
.So I went out to my car and located a copy of a Nanna Strawberry book. I inscribed the message
'Thank you for my treat. Please accept this little book as a gift from me' 'Nanna Strawberry'
I went in search of the gentleman and his family. He was not at their table but the book was
received on his behalf. My very tasty steak was delivered, and I tucked into it with enjoyment.
Then my kind unknown friend returned to my table to tell me the dinner was a token of his warm
appreciation for all that I did for the schoolchildren of Knowsley ! He described himself as an
Ambassador for Knowsley and told me "We know about your visits and how the children have
really enjoyed them" and various other complimentary remarks, which I found very uplifting and encouraging. So it once again proves that none of us know what the stranger amongst us may
have experienced about us, or who is aware of our own individual input into society.
I responded by truthfully affirming that I thoroughly enjoyed my unforseen involvement with
schools, their teachers and hundreds of delightful memorable children who never failed to impress
me by their interest and questions about my Nanna Strawberry stories.
Thank you Sophie for inspiring me to write the first, succeeded to date by ten more, with the final
one alsmost ready for print, and I again wish you "Happy 6th birthday" and exciting year with lots
of new experiences as a six year old !
Who knows what you will have achieved by the time you are 80+ !!
None of us do !! Life is an ever opening new adventure.
Thank you again, Mr Ambassador for Knowsley, and every good wish to one and all for the future

KIRKBY LIBRARY THURS 15TH AUGUST 11AM
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME ALONG !
Nanna Strawberry described some of her books and read one of them,
'Nanna Strawberry Reads Stories To Sophie' to a lovely gathering of
children accompanied by parents or grandparents who all participated in
guessing the clues to the names of stories which Sophie had stopped Nanna
Strawberry from reading, because, for example, "I do not l ike porridge" !
Can YOU guess the title of that story ?
Children then enjoyed the Fairy Tale Quiz by Children's Librarian, Gerry,
and her Picture Quiz which they later coloured in.
Great fun, all free, enjoying books during summer holidays.
Nanna Strawberry was very pleased when some children became the happy
owners of one or more of her stories books. She always feels great when
someone likes her books enough to buy one of them ! The money will also
help her to publish Book No 12 'Nanna Strawberry Goes To a Wedding'.
Nanna also thanks Gerry for giving her a car lift to and from Kirkby Library
and for all her assistance. She donated three of her stories to Knowsley Libraries
in appreciation for inviting her to take part in their Summer book reading activities.
Love and bes wishes from author Audrey Wilson 'Nanna Strawberry' x

PRESCOT LIBRARY HOLIDAY QUIZ
Childnre's Librarian, Gerry, kindly collected Nanna Strawberry from her home
for the free holiday activity at Prescot Library.
We were pleased that Tabitha attended with her Mum. Clearly very keen on
reading story books, and hearing Nanna Strawberry read her book
'Nanna Strawberry Tells Stories to Sophie'. Tabitha took part in answering
Nanna Strawberry's questions about the fairy tales Sophie had stopped her from
reading. Remember them? "Do not like giants" "Do not like porridge" and so on.
Clever Tabitha guessed all the titles correctly. Then she took part in the Quiz prepared
by Ginny. Again very successfully. We learned that Tabitha holds lots of ambitions for
the future... to be a fireman, or one of several other professions.
Nanna Strawberry told her she thought that Tabitha was going to be a famous author.
She was very good at creating characters in her mind, so could write some wonderful
stories about a fireman, or a doctor, etc. Despite only having Tabitha with us for this
holiday activity, we could not have had a more intelligent and interested little girl with us
to share our activities.
Thank you Tabitha, and your lovely Mum for all her encouragement to you.
Love Nanna Strawberry and Gerry. (Next at Kirkby Library, 15th August 11am).
