STORY NO 2 - NANNA STRAWBERRY MAKES A BADGE and has tea with Sophie MAKES A BADGE....and has tea with Sophie

Book No 2 is entitled "NANNA STRAWBERRY MAKES A BADGE...and has tea with Sophie".

This will be available for sale in September.

Nanna Strawberry shows Sophie how to make a strawberry badge. Then Sophie's Mummy invites Nanna out to tea with them.  The first cafe was too full, no tables available for an hour, so Daddy drove them to a Chinese Buffet Restaurant.  Sophie shouts out "Nanna Strawberry" whenever Nanna returns to the Buffet Table for more food. It was all good fun.  Young readers have the opportunity to also make a badge, and to learn about a Chinese buffet.

THE LAUNCH

It is a joy to report that my first Nanna Strawberry story is now printed and available for sale £3.99. (plus £1 or 80p postage if required).

Printfine excelled themselves by managing to complete the full order for 500 copies
over three days. I do thank everyone concerned and Lorraine for her helpful liaison.

Vladi and her friend Matt joined me at my stall at the excellent KNOWSLEY FLOWER
SHOW. We were in the Community  Information marquee where I was displaying information about my other project COMMUNITY ROOTS & BRANCHES. I had decorated the marquee wall behind my table  with strawberry themed banners gifted to my on my last birthday. Great interest was shown in the 'New children's book' at one end of my table.

THE MAGICAL NAMING OF NANNA STRAWBERRY and a visit to the seaside
Beautifully illustrated by Vladislava Vatashka .

Sophie's Mum, Emma, and my daughter Sue came as afternoon helpers. Emma donned the
tee shirt bearing the slogan  'Nanna Strawberry Club' beneath a large strawberry, and Sue wore
a strawberry patterned apron.  They prepared a wall mounted poster to inform people that a
new childrens book would be signed by the author if purchased that day.. 30 copies were sold
between us all, including Matt, a great salesoperson. Emma received orders for a further 20 , so
it was a very successful occasion. We were all very pleased when the Mayor of Knowsley
stopped at our stall. We used the opportunity to present him with a signed copy and to take a
photograph with Yours Truly.

My grateful thanks to everyone who bought a copy with such enthusiasm ! One was even bought
as a gift to another Nanna!  Proving the book can entertain readers from age 3 to 80+.
If you missed the opportunity at the Show, then the book will soon be available from Amazon,
or email:   nannastrawberrystories@gmail.com

PUBLICITY TO DATE:
Roger Phillips at Radio Merseyside kindly invited me for an introductory chat near the end of his Show.

Kate at Liverpool Echo has arranged for the Echo Video team to visit my home tomorrow, Tuesday,
to film me reading the opening pages of the book to Sophie, who is now almost four, soon to go to
school. So look out for this on line if you want to know more before ordering a copy.   I just hope that
my croaky voice, aftermath of a cold, is much better by then !  If not, you will understand why I come across croaky !

We may also appear in Knowsley News after their photographer gave me a consent form to sign.
Thank you one and all.
