LAUNCH BOOK 12 at b,acm

EXCITING LAUNCH AT BLACKLOW BROW PRIMARY SCHOOL ASSEMBLY, 18TH DECEMBER, OF THE FINAL BOOK IN THE TWELVE NANNA STRAWBERRY STORIES.

Nanna Strawberry Goes to a Wedding.... and bakes a cake

Author Audrey Wilson writes of her recent participation in the School's Christmas Fayre, 13 December.

"It was lovely to be so warmly welcomed by pupils who recognised me from previous visits and several enjoyed buying another book from t he Nanna Strawberry series. I look forward to returning on 18th December to read book 12 to Assembly, then visits to each class, and enjoy two hour long workshops"

These stories began in 2016 after Nanna's great grandaughter, Sophie then aged 2, was anxious because she could not say Nanna's name 'Audrey' so called her 'Nanna Strawberry' !  Sophie was very relieved and happy when she saw that 'Nanna Strawberry' really liked her new name, so Sophie called it out very loudly all through their visit to New Brighton with Sophie's Mummy, Emma, who was Nanna's eldest grandchild.

So in January 2016, Nanna wrote her very first story, which became Book No 1 of a series of 12 stories.

The Magical Naming of Nanna Strawberry...... and a visit to the seaside'

Nanna Strawberry is thrilled that Mrs Anne-Marie Feriggan has invited her on behalf of Blackblow Brow School to visit on the 18th December to launch Nanna's final book 12 at the School Assembly, and then to follow this with a story writing project with children selected from two year groups, to discuss Nanna's Christmas traditions as described in Book 4

'Nanna Strawberry shares Christmas with an Angel... and all her family'.

The children will then describe their own Christmas traditions which they will write down to create their own story book with help from Nanna Strawberry.  That is going to be great fun, very exciting! A lovely start to Christmas !  Thank you Mrs Ferrigan, colleagues and pupils for sharing your special Celebration Day with Nanna Strawberry. You all deserve a celebration for winning the Salvation Army's county-wide schools'
competition to see which was best at recycling !  The huge amount you recycled was F A N T A S T I C !!

When we think about it, writing about happy traditions is also a way of recycling them for others to share !

See you soon, love from Nanna Strawberrry (author and illustrator Audrey Wilson).
